Drug & alcohol detox
Medically supervised withdrawal management — the safe first step for many people in early recovery.
What detox is
Detox is the period when the body clears a substance. Depending on what's been used and for how long, withdrawal can be uncomfortable, medically risky, or in some cases (alcohol, benzodiazepines) potentially dangerous without medical supervision.
What detox is not
Detox alone is not addiction treatment. It's a stabilization step. The clinical work that actually changes the patterns underneath happens in residential, inpatient, or outpatient programs that follow.
What we provide
- 24/7 medical supervision during active withdrawal
- Medications to manage withdrawal symptoms when clinically appropriate
- Vitals monitoring and assessment by nursing staff
- Clinical assessment to plan the next level of care before discharge
Substances commonly treated
- Alcohol
- Opioids (heroin, prescription pain medications, fentanyl)
- Benzodiazepines
- Stimulants
- Polysubstance use
How long
Detox length depends on substance, dose, duration of use, and individual medical factors. Plan on several days, with the goal of a stable handoff into the next level of care.
Withdrawal from alcohol and benzodiazepines can be medically serious. Do not attempt to stop suddenly without medical guidance. Call us, your doctor, or 911 if you're in danger.
